Proceed to the next blue chest by the coat-hanger-shaped pillar and open that. Proceed to the wooden chest just ahead and open that too. Go up to Ori and Dori, past the opened blue chest behind them and to the next blue chest behind it and open it. Go behind it, past the save pedestal, to find another blue chest. To your right are the blocks you climbed earlier to climb above Smaug. Where Balin stands, pole-vault over the gold and open the blue chest. You can already give Dwalin the necklace. Bombur wants a golden serving dish, Balin wants the spears of King Bladorthin, Dwalin wants the necklace of Girion, and Glion wants a giant ruby. It's a pretty large room and there's goodies all over the place, but I'll try to explain it as simple as possible.įirst off talk to the nearby four dwarves. Notice however that because of Smaug's destruction while leaving the lair, the whole place has changed. Before doing so however, we're going to clear the entire lair with its goodies and retrieve items for the dwarfs, which is possible now that Smaug is gone. Thorin instructs Bilbo to create a way to cross it. The thrush overhears it and flies off to Laketown. After escaping Smaug's lair, Bilbo tells the dwarfs about the bare spot on Smaug's chest. To escape the lair, follow the trail of CPs and hide behind objects before Smaug bursts out flames in your direction. A cut scene will ensue with Bilbo finding Smaug's weak spot and Smaug seeing Bilbo, leading to the chase segment. From here on jump from platforms to chain until you're on the platform above Smaug with the CPs on it. Save when you're on the pillar with the head statue. Make sure to use the save pedestal when you're close to Smaug because one particular jump from pillar to pillar is tricky. Use tall obstacles to reload the ring while being out of Smaug's sight. Return to the lair and to the end of the first walkway, then simply follow the trail of blue CPs while wearing the ring. Return to the pushable block near the save pedestal, climb the stones again and this time jump on the hanging platform to your right. ![]() Go up the slanted stone slab and drop down and down again to get the necklace and SPs. Push the block by the head statue so you can climb the blocks on your left - beware the noise meter! Climb the blocks and pole vault to the side to pull the lever, exposing the Necklace of Girion. Pole vault to the purple CP and SP ahead, grab them and return to the path.Ĭheckpoint: 550 SPs, 50 CPs, 7 chests, 0 quests When on top of the narrow wall, jump to the chest to your left and unlock. Proceed, hopping from pillar to pillar and following the trail of blue CPs. Continue towards the tail, picking up goodies and time to jump underneath the tail towards the save pedestal. Go to the stone slab near the tail of the dragon and open the wooden chest. Make a u-turn to find another chest underneath the walkway you came from and unlock it. Return to the walkway, drop down and unlock the chest just ahead. Follow the path to the right and unlock the chest to your left just before the end of the walkway. Make sure not to trigger the noise meter or he'll wake up and roast Bilbo. Smaug is sleeping with the cup right underneath his nose. Go through the windy corridor and up the steps. Thorin tasks Bilbo with retrieving the golden cup of Thror. They opened the secret passage into Smaug's lair. Then as the sun set on the last light of Durin's Day, Bilbo saw a keyhole appear in the side of the mountain and called for the dwarfs. High on the mountain Bilbo saw a thrush cracking snails. They passed through the lands destroyed by the dragon, the desolation of Smaug. The people of Laketown said farewell as the dwarfs set out for the Lonely Mountain. ![]()
